The RC2 has a built in circulation system and is used to cool water from an external source, such as temperature controlled Waterbaths etc. Water from the external source is drawn into the RC2 cooled then returned via the 1/2” hose tail inlet/outlet fittings. Temperatures between 4° and 30°c can be maintained, accuracy would depend on the temperature controller used. The RC2 cooler can cool 8 litres of water in an insulated tank from 30°C to 5°C in approximately 25 mins. To avoid accidental damage to the system safety cut outs prevent the cooler from operating outside the specified temperature range. Only environmentally friendly R134a refrigerant is used in Ratek coolers. Suitable Insulated tanks are available for use with the RC2.
